Pastor Sam Willard

Born in San Diego, CA; Sam spent his childhood moving around the country as his father served in the Navy. When Sam was 13, God used the local youth group and a Bible Camp to mature his faith and his relationship with God in Jesus Christ. Sam graduated from the Free Lutheran Bible College (Plymouth, MN) in 2004, and from University Northwestern- St Paul in 2007. He served in the Navy from 2008-2015, deploying to both the Arabian Gulf and the South Pacific. In 2012, Sam began attending Hope Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. Sam and Rachel Grammer were married there in 2014. Through that congregation, Sam was led to explore the seminary, and he enrolled in 2018. The three years of seminary preparation were a blessing. Sam grew in his understanding of Scripture, pastoral ministry and spiritual life. He also experienced God’s faithfulness to His Word in new ways. Sam served as an Intern at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Pipestone, MN from June 2021 – May 2022. Sam and Rachel have 2 boys: Caleb (4) and Simeon (2); and a baby girl: Abigail; born summer 2022. Sam began serving as Pastor at King of Glory Lutheran Church in June 2022.

The Church Council is a group of men who have volunteered their time to serve in roles of leadership at King of Glory Lutheran.  They were elected at a congregational meeting and serve three year terms.  Each one of them oversees an area of ministry at King of Glory.  We are so thankful for these godly men!
